2019 Bucket List

2018 taught me love
2018 taught me patience
And 2018 taught me pain
Now, I’m so amazing
I’ve loved and I’ve lost
But that’s not what I see
So, look what I got
Look what you taught me
And for that, I say

Thank you, next

– Ariana Grande.

It’s safe to say 2018 didn’t quite turn out how I thought it would and it took me a while to come to terms with that; Ariana Grande’s latest smash hit certainly is a fitting way to sum up 2018 for me to be honest, so to 2018 I say ‘Thank you, next.’

I’m very excited to welcome 2019 and see what the year holds for me in all aspects, particularly in the way of travel and adventure. While I managed to tick off some of my 2018 bucket list such as visiting Uluru and exploring more of Victoria I definitely didn’t get to do everything I hoped to, therefore making more of an effort to conquer my 2019 bucket list is definitely a goal of mine.

I’ve been very fortunate to have already travelled as much as I have in my mere 23 years but there is still so much that my soul is eager to explore and discover. These are a few of my main bucket list items for this forth-coming year; I’m sure as the year goes by the list will grow though!

Sri Lanka surf retreat

I’m still yet to research this bucket list item in more detail however, it’s always been a dream of mine to be able to surf and I thought what better way to learn than to immerse myself in a week long retreat in one of the most beautiful destinations that I’m still yet to tick off. I’ve recently been looking into Talalla Retreat as one of the options as they offer combined surf and yoga retreats.

NZ trip

Even though I’ve been to New Zealand countless times it’s a place I’ll continue to visit due to family and friend ties and simply because it’s an amazing place to visit any time of the year. My previous few trips have both been winter trips and I’m still deciding whether to make 2019’s trip another winter one so that I can have another go at snowboarding the slopes over there or wait until the warmer months; either way I’ll definitely be ticking off another AJ Hackett bungy jump, or two.

Tasmania

Tassie has always been a dream destination for me, particularly because it’s the only state in Australia that I’m yet to tick off. However, a lovely lady that I follow on Instagram has been adventuring through Tassie and her photos are absolutely amazing and are making me keener than ever to get across the strait.

Scuba Diving Course

A few years ago for Christmas my parents gave me a voucher to do my scuba diving course and it’s still something I’m yet to use so I’m making it my mission to tick this one off for certain in 2019. I’d love to get back over to the Gili Islands in Indonesia to complete the course, however I’m just as happy to do it in Australia somewhere if an overseas trip can’t be organised.

Karratha

Karratha is a city in the Pilbara region of Western Australia and is also where a dear friend of mine is relocating to at the beginning of 2019. Lauren (who I travelled to Uluru with) and I have promised to pop over for a visit during Easter.

Byron Bay & Burleigh Heads

I’m really not sure what it is that I’m so drawn to when it comes to these two locations but they’ve places I’ve wanted to visit for so long now, I think it’s about time I ticked them off. I’m planning on road tripping up rather than flying because it gives you that little bit of extra freedom to pack whatever but also to travel at your own pace and come and go as you please.

Thailand

I’ve always dreamt of island hopping in Thailand. My family and I are planning on spending the 2019 Christmas/New Year holidays here and I can’t wait!

Other

Of course there’s plenty more on the 2019 bucket list such as getting my motorbike license, visiting the Blue Mountains, and just all round exploring more of Victoria.

What’s on your 2019 bucket list?
